Volunteer Learning Opportunities – Various

On our volunteer learning weekend from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th June 2023, we have a number of learning opportunities for our volunteers to sign up.

Friday
Safety and Safeguarding (19:00-21:00)
This session will be face-to-face and follow the structure of The Scouts online courses. Please bring with you a laptop, tablet or smartphone to complete this module. Please contact us by emailing, training@nullgmwscouts.org.uk if you are struggling with an electronic device to bring and we will try to assist where we can.

Learning to Lead – Part 1 (09:30-17:00)
The learning for modules required to complete your wood badge.

Modules Covered:
5. Fundamentals of Scouting
6. Changes in Scouting
7. Scouting for All
8. Working with Adults
9. Skills of Leadership
11. Administration
14. Supporting Young People

Manager and Supporter Training (MAST) – Skills of Management – Part 1 (09:30-17:00)
This course is for volunteers with roles requiring management and supporter training. Skills of Management is a two-day course and you will need to attend both of these days.

First Response (09:30-16:30)

Please Note: Learning to Lead was previously called Getting Going (wood badge course).

Please bring your own lunch if you are attending full day courses, we will provide tea, coffee and water.

There is limited accommodation available on a first come, first serve basis for those attending sessions on two or more days over the weekend. You should bring lunch on the day of your arrival, we will provide an evening meal (Saturday only), breakfast and lunch on subsequent days.
