Beavers and Squirrels Museum Trip 2023

About the Beavers and Squirrels Museum Trip….

• Following last year’s successful trip to Blackpool Zoo, this year we are taking over the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester and this year we are inviting Squirrels along too!
• There are a whole range of exhibits and interactive activities for young people to take part with their leader. At the museum, you can explore 250 years of innovations and ideas that started life in Manchester and went on to change the world.

What you need to know….

• When: Saturday 20th May 2023
• Time: Arrival slots to be allocated from 10am, depart from 3pm (groups to set their own departure time)
• Where: Manchester Science and Industry Museum, Liverpool Rd, Manchester, M3 4FP.
• Cost: FREE
• Badge Requirements: For Beavers, this visit covers sections of both the Explore and Communicator Activity Badges. For Squirrels, this visit covers sections of Exciting Experiments Activity Badge.
• Transport: Each section should arrange their own transport. As part of The Scout Promise to the Planet, we recommend the use of public transport from your local meeting place. There is limited parking at the museum for parent drop-off.
• Lunch: Young people and volunteers should bring a packed lunch. The souvenir shop will be open to use at individual leader’s discretion.
• Clothing: Young people should wear their uniform to this event. We recommend they bring a backpack for their lunch and drinks to be carried.
• Permission Forms: Section Leaders must arrange their own permission forms, ensuring they are available on the day and disposing of them afterwards. Click the link to download our Participant Information Form.
