Following a brief hiatus due to covid and cleanliness, our annual Cub Mudder competition has made a comeback in 2022. The roughly 1km assault course mirroring the Bispham Hall Scout Estate Chariot Race, but without the chariot, tests our young people’s ability to work as a team whilst making it around the course in the fastest time.

This year, we added partnerships with South Lancs Amateur Radio Club (SLARC) to combine Cub Mudder with the International JOTA/JOTI (Jamboree On The Air / Jamboree On The Internet) making this two events in one and helping Cubs tick a box for their Communicator badge. A further partnership with Hospital Radio Wrightington provided us with a music, commentary and entertainment at the start/finish lines.

2022 saw a wet and rainy couple of weeks in the lead up to Cub Mudder, making the course extremely muddy making the event even more enjoyable for Cubs – hopefully washing machines survived!

Results from the day:

  1. 1st Abram B
  2. 1st Standish
  3. 2nd Atherton

We’d like to thank SLARC and Hospital Radio Wrightington for joining up with us and making the added extras amazing!
