Members of our County Leadership Team joined 500 other lead Scouting volunteers from across the UK for ‘Basecamp 2022’ at the University of Manchester on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th May 2022. The weekend was aimed to energise, engage and empower volunteer managers by giving them information and tools to help deliver the next stage of The Scouts Skills for Life strategy.

As a movement, we’ve shown great ability to move forward; new uniforms, open to girls, Scouts on Zoom and new sections including Squirrels.By developing and moving forwards, we’ll keep having a remarkable impact on the lives of young people and the communities they live in. In 2017, volunteers created a plan to grow our movement. That plan became our Skills for Life strategy. Scouts have made great progress, with our new brand, new website, more youth shaped Scouting, greater community impact, and the launch of Squirrels.

Our next step is to make volunteering with Scouts easier, and more rewarding. More information will follow throughout late 2022 and early 2023.
