Key Information

  • All Leaders attending this event must have all their Mandatory Training up to date prior to attendance.
  • The parade is on Saturday 27th August and is open to all Adult Volunteers and Explorer section members (accompanied by a leader). Once registered a briefing pack will be emailed to you and an invite to an online briefing prior to the event itself. The briefing will give details of the meeting point and any logistics to help with the smooth running of the day.
  • If you have attended pride with the scouts before, you will be familiar with our branding and clothing requirements – white t-shirts have been worn in previous years, so dig them out and bring them with you, there may be a chance of a new design this year, so please fill in t-shirt part of the registration form.
  • If we are unable to provide a t-shirt, please wear informal scouting clothing (Scout branding preferred) – do not wear formal uniform. Currently the scout shop has the new Pride range on sale, including the new design for the necker and a wide range of badges.
  • There are only 100 places for the parade, booking will close when all the places are filled, although it is being organised by all Greater Manchester Counties, we are seeing other counties across Lancashire relishing the opportunity to represent scouting at this event. At the moment a third of the places have already been filled, and interest is growing rapidly.
  • This year the event is being covered by the Scout Association Media team, they have recorded some of the planning meetings and hope to interview scout members and young people over the course of the event. You will have the chance when you register to say if you are happy for them to contact you about being featured in their production, they will conduct interviews and film the parade. You can choose to opt out of any of the footage or pictures of the event captured by the Scout Media Team or the Manchester Scout Pride Team.
  • This year the event briefing will be virtual, held a few days before the parade, giving details of the meeting point and some of the logistics for the day.
