Beaver and Cub Camp 2022

County Camps are back! This time a joint camp for Beavers and Cubs.

Our aim for this camp is to allow young people to complete the criteria they have not been able to achieve due to COVID restrictions from the Adventure and Outdoor Challenge Awards. We are keen to support leaders to deliver a programme which allows young people to aim high and achieve their Top Awards for Beavers and Cubs.

This came is the first time many of the young people will have camped and many leaders haven’t arranged and delivered residential activities for three or more years. This is a great opportunity to work with others in your District to get back to camping with your section. We are encouraging young people to camp, therefore we will not be offering a day visitor option for this event.

About the Beaver and Cub Camp….

• Theme: Commonwealth Games Theme
• Activities: Lots of adventurous activities including archery, shooting and climbing. There will also be a whole range of activities on the Saturday working towards the badge criteria for each section including fire lighting, backwoods cooking, wide games, campfire sing-a-long, nature trail and plenty more. We will have other activities including inflatables, cave bus and many more! There will be athletics themed activities on the Sunday morning. Districts will be asked to provide two bases, more information will be shared with ADCs in due course.

What you need to know….

• When: Friday 8th to Sunday 10th July 2022 (Cubs – 2 nights) and Saturday 9th to Sunday 10th July 2022 (Beavers – 1 night)
• Where: Bispham Hall Scout Estate, Crank Road, Billinge, Wigan, WN5 7DT.
• Transport: Young people should be dropped off by their parents in a specific time slot. The time slots will be confirmed nearer the time.
• Cost: £30.00 (Cubs) and £25.00 (Beavers), with 1 leader to every 6 young people go free. Additional volunteers and young leaders at £10.00 each.
• Catering: Districts should arrange and facilitate cater for all sections attending. Saturday evening meal is provided by the County and will be a BBQ. Districts will therefore need to provide breakfast and lunch for young people and volunteers.
• Clothing: Section Leaders need to issue a kit list to parents. It is important young people are equipped for all weathers as all of the activities will take place outdoors.
• Souvenirs: The providore (campsite tuck shop) will be open throughout the weekend for young people to purchase souvenirs, toys, sweets and drinks. Visiting the providore is at the Section Leaders discretion, there will be a slot allocated on the schedule for each District to visit the provider.
• Permission Forms: Section Leaders must arrange their own permission forms, ensuring they are available on the day and disposing of them afterwards. Click the link to download our Participant Information Form.
• How to Book: Please complete the form below by Sunday 15th May 2022 to confirm numbers. The registration form should be completed by one person from each group for all Beaver and Cub sections at your Group. These numbers can’t be changed after submitted and you will be charged for the full number of places. We will send you a total cost after this date and you will need to make payment in full shortly after.
