Night Away Advisor (NAA) Training – 16 spaces
Sunday 26th June 2022 from 09.30am to 4.00pm

This course is for those leaders who are looking to advise on the technical competence and capability of other members to be issued with a Nights away permit. The main parts of this role when achieved are to promote nights away events and to assess applicants for a Nights Away permit. You will learn how to conduct an assessment of the 8 core skill areas covered in the assessment checklist, when assessing the applicant’s residential experience. You will learn how to submit your assessment to the relevant commissioner, it is not within this role to approve the permit, you will be trained to make a recommendation only. This role is appointed by Districts and occasionally County, through the same process as any other adult appointment. Your previous experience will be taken into consideration before acceptance onto this course inclusive of a current Nights Away permit.

You will also need to complete and validate module 25A – specific to Nights Away Advisors before this role can be approved. Your training will also need to be kept current by POR guidelines after approval. It is essential you discuss booking onto this course with your District Commissioner.
