A big day down at Helly Hansen Water Sports Centre, the County Cardboard Canoe is not only great fun for the Scouts, Explorers and Leaders who take part, but it is a great showcase for Scouting at the heart of Salford Quays. There were 41 teams taking part this year, all taking to the water in their cardboard canoes. There are lots of adventurous designs, each one hoping to stay afloat as they paddle their way around the obstacle.

The winners and sinkers were….

Fastest Scouts – 2nd Brooklands and 3rd Davyhulme (joint)

Fastest Explorers – Merlin Explorers

Fastest Leaders – 3rd Timperley

Titanic Award for Best Sinking – 2nd Urmston

Best Boat Design – 1st Ashton for their Loch Ness Monster

Well done to all the teams who took part and thank you to the organisers and the Helly Hensan Watersports Centre for making this annual event a huge success!
