On Saturday 6th March we held the Annual County Cub Chess
Competiton hosted by Stretford District at St. Matthew's Church
Hall.
The Cubs had a fantastic afternoon, visiting the 'Tuck Shop',
playing Chess and also visting Chess websites. They played
several rounds and kept going throughout the afternoon and whilst
the final results were being compiled they were able to watch two

I recently visited 3rd Swinton Cubs who had been joined by the
Beavers for the night when the Lancashire Hawks and Owls Roadshow
flew in.
The Cubs and Beavers (and leaders) were able to hold and stroke
some of these magnificent birds of prey. One of the
highlights was when the European Eagle Owl called Jammu flew across
the room and everyone clapped which was the signal for Purdey
