On Saturday 19th January, leaders, managers and supporters attended our county conference ‘The Buzz Live’ at Oasis Academy MediaCityUK.

The Buzz Live was an opportunity for volunteers to learn about our vision for the next few years and how it ties in with the national 2018-2023 strategy and #SkillsForLife. There was a series of guest speakers including the Chief Commissioner for England, Alex Peace-Gadsby talking about the national strategy and another was from our partner at the charity Kasupe, David Chilakalaki who played a huge part in our county trip to Malawi last summer.

There was a marketplace in the Atrium of the building filled with stalls showcasing opportunities across the county including the Goodwood Weekender, Survival Camp, Warhammer and many more.

There were workshops in the afternoon focusing on various aspects of our counties new developments including training, online scout manager and our campsites.

Our day finished with a BIG ANNOUNCMENT about Online Scout Manager (OSM) and an inspirational speaker, Paralympian, Sam Ruddock who talked about the challenges and successes in his life and career to date.

Thank-you to everyone who made the day possible. We will be communicating more information about our county vision in the upcoming months. This will include a ‘shared area’ for members across the county to access a variety of useful resources.
