Lilford District Cooking Competition
On Sunday 22nd November, the newly formed Lilford District
hosted a hugely successful and exciting Beaver Cooking Competition.
The event, the first of its kind in Lilford, was well supported
with entries from 9 colonies taking part and it was clear to
see the enjoyment on all of the Beaver's faces, both when cooking
and eating the leftovers!
Each colony had chosen a theme for their 3-course meal which
were varied, interesting, and chosen by the Beavers
themselves! One group decided to use air, water and land animals as
their stimulus which involved a tuna 'fish' salad, a lion designed
pizza and a 'bird' shaped dessert. Other delicacies included
toasties, banana split, jacket potatoes, meringue nests, pasta and
even garlic mushrooms.
The winning colony chose a Mexican theme and all the Beavers
wore suitably attired with sombreros. They cooked spicy chicken
fajitas for their main dish and a tangy mango biscuit sundae for
dessert.

Thanks go to Paul Mullaney, Lilford District Commissioner, for
judging the food and to 1st Astley who hosted the event in their
headquarters.
