On a warm Friday afternoon during the summer holidays 20 VERY
excited Beavers from 3rd Ashton on Mersey Beaver Colony met at Park
Road Primary School in Sale, after a short delay due to the coach
going to the wrong school (!) we eagerly climbed on board and took

Sale District's trip to Redhouse Farm Dunham Massey on 25th
September.
The day started cloudy with drops of rain in the air however,
after our picnic lunch in the barn, blue skies & sunshine
appeared in time for us to enjoy all the activities on offer.

On the last weekend in September, Beavers from 4 groups in
Stretford came together for their District Sleepover at Linnet
Clough. The theme for the weekend was 'Cowboys and Indians' and the
events were kicked off by a night-time walk, listening for sounds
of wildlife in the style of Native American Indians.

On Sunday 9th October, three
Districts came together to compete in a Dominoes competition. All
the Beavers from Stretford, Lilford and Swinton & Pendlebury
were very excited and eager to meet the other Beavers and play
against each other.

Beavers from across Ellesmere District were treated to dancing
and music from a different culture on Saturday 9th July. Beavers
were split into small groups and throughout the day learnt African
dance routines and how to play specific rhythms on the drums.

Wow, what a fantastic day was had
by 470 Beaver Scouts from 8 Districts across Greater Manchester
West on Saturday 18th June. The day was officially opened by a
parade of birthday banners marching to the wonderful sound of 3D
scout band and the fun then truly began!

As we enter Autumn and the dark, cold nights begin to draw in,
this will be a fantastic time to brush up on those Scouting skills.
Why not organise a night devoted to this - if you're not 100%
comfortable with some of these skills why not invite a Cub or Scout
Leader to help you, or even an Explorer Scout?
